To keep loot fair for everybody and to avoid having people continually mooching gear for an endless stream of alts/twinks, we've come up with the following rules for handling loot for non-main characters. This is a work in progress and is subject to change as the officers see fit.

Special Note: Alts are not bad as long as they are talented and give back what they get to the guild. Keep in mind that whatever name may be above the character, the person behind that toon is your guildmate and should be respected as such. They taste good too. Yum.

Loot

All alts must have at least 1 Nexus Crystal in their bags during a raid to pay for the first piece of possible loot that can be sharded (this excludes non-shardable loot such as the Eye of Divinity and the Ancient Leaf). If you happen to get more than 1 piece of loot, the rest of the items must be paid off before your next run in that instance (this includes ZG) unless otherwise notified by a raid leader.  If your class is needed for a raid, your payment will be waived until the following run.

All loot given to alts is going to be based on merit and distributed via Officer Loot. If you do not get loot for a while, try harder. Please do not come in and expect to get gear first run.

Payment should be sent to EGBank with a note of what item you are paying for with that crystal. Here is a breakdown of costs:

  • Tier 1 items - will be 1 crystal and 2 crystals each third item
  • Tier 2 items - 2 crystals regardless of what slot they fill
  • Weapons - 2 crystals

It is your responsibility to keep track of what you owe.  Failure to pay within the appropriate time may get your alt removed from raids until further notice.

Bind on Equip items will be banked and sold to the alt for half of the market price. Nexus Crystals may be given as payment, but only for the AH price of the crystal. (If AH Crystal = 50g and Pally belt on AH = 1500g, 700g and a crystal are sufficient payment).

Spec/Gear/Utility

PvE Friendly talent builds are the only kind acceptable on guild raids. You are smart. If you know you need to respec, don't wait to be told. Do it!

All gear must be top notch and approved by the class leader. Realize that although a main may have come in with worse gear than you have right now, we don't care. If you can improve your character in a pug, do it.  If you can craft an epic you know would help you, do it. Fire Resist will also be taken into consideration when assessing preparation for a raid (the buying of Cores from the bank will be handled by EGBank and is subject to EGBank's discretion). Class leaders are going to be instructed to be hard asses about this, so don't take it lightly.

Be sure to have backup gear with you. Chances are your gear is not going to help you live. You will need to have something else to equip in that case. If you break and are not prepared, you are out!

Relationship With Mains

Remember: You are an alt and have zero priority. Your main must be predominately done with a zone before you even consider taking an alt. If you are on your alt, you pretty much forego all rights to being in the raid if a main needs to get in for rep or an item, whatever the case may be (within reason).  Alts will not be allowed in Blackwing Lair or for Ragnaros, unless otherwise cleared by Dagron.

A note to mains: Do not take advantage of this and say you don't want to come until the boss that you need. You will not get in.

Raid Preparation

Obviously, as an alt you are required to bring the appropriate materials to raids. Review our Raiding Requirements before joining the raid. Health Potions, Mana Potions, Tubers/NDB, Fire Protection Potions, Mongoose Potions, etc. Remember /raitem. You will be checked!
